Design and Installation

The Aqara G100 stands out for its compact and understated design. Available in black or white, it fits easily both indoors and outdoors. Its IP65 certification ensures good resistance to rain and dust, allowing it to be wall-mounted or placed indoors without issues. One minor drawback: it runs on mains power, and the 5V/1A adapter is not included, so an appropriate power supply will be needed.

Image Quality and Night Vision

With 2K resolution (2304×1296, 3MP) and a 140° field of view, the image is sharp and detailed. Night vision offers two interesting modes:

• Discrete infrared (940 nm): remains invisible to intruders.

• Color night vision with built-in spotlight: useful for clearly identifying people or objects in the dark.

This dual mode makes it versatile depending on surveillance needs.

Connectivity and Compatibility

The camera uses Wi-Fi 6 with WPA3 encryption, ensuring smooth transmission even on crowded networks and better data security. It is compatible with major smart home ecosystems:

• Apple HomeKit Secure Video (limited to 1080p)

• Google Home and Alexa for versatile use

• RTSP for advanced users with Home Assistant

Note: For HomeKit, an Apple hub and iCloud subscription are required to access all features.

Intelligent Detection and Advanced Features

Local AI detection can already identify movement and human presence without relying on the cloud. For more advanced features, the HomeGuardian subscription adds recognition of pets, packages, vehicles, and faces. Two-way audio is included, allowing real-time communication with someone near the camera.
