EZVIZ CB8 PRO 4K Review with Solar Panel

The EZVIZ CB8 Pro 4K is a high-end outdoor security camera, combining ultra-precise 4K resolution, autonomous solar power, and a 360° panoramic rotation system. I had the chance to test it in real conditions, and here is my experience.
Installation and Setup – EZVIZ CB8 Pro 4K
Installation is particularly easy for an outdoor camera. The kit includes the camera, an adjustable mount, and a 5W solar panel with a 3-meter cable, making it easy to find a sunny spot. Pairing with the EZVIZ app takes just a few minutes, and the interface is intuitive.
Being completely wireless is a real advantage: no need for power cables, just a Wi-Fi connection.
Image Quality and Night Vision
The 4K (8MP) resolution is impressive right from the first images. Details are sharp even at a distance, making it suitable for monitoring a large garden or entrance.
Full-color night vision is a major strength: with built-in spotlights, the image remains bright and detailed, whereas many cameras only deliver grainy black-and-white footage. Additionally, the balanced exposure option prevents overly dark or overexposed areas.
Surveillance Features
360° Rotation (355° horizontal, 90° vertical): No blind spots, the camera can cover an entire area.
AOV 2.0 Mode: An innovative system combining time-lapse with standard motion-triggered recording, providing continuous coverage without filling up storage.
Smart Detection: The camera distinguishes humans and vehicles from simple movements (trees, animals, etc.), reducing false alerts.
Automatic Tracking: The camera follows the movements of an intruder or vehicle, ensuring nothing is missed.
Active Defense: In case of intrusion, it triggers a flash and a siren to deter intruders.
Storage and Compatibility
Storage is flexible: microSD card up to 512 GB or EZVIZ cloud (optional). Subscribing to the cloud is not mandatory.
For compatibility, the CB8 Pro works with Alexa and Google Assistant, and connects via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi with good stability thanks to Wi-Fi 6.
Battery Life and Solar Panel
The solar panel is effective: with just 2 hours of sunlight per day, the camera remains continuously powered. Even in winter, it performs well, provided the panel is properly positioned.
Pros – EZVIZ CB8 Pro 4K
✔️ Ultra-detailed 4K resolution
✔️ Full-color night vision
✔️ Completely wireless + included solar panel
✔️ Smart detection (humans/vehicles)

Cons – EZVIZ CB8 Pro 4K

Verdict
